Please make sure you have the following supplies:
Notebook
Pencil
Eraser
Graph paper
WIRED earbuds/headphones
I will have extras in case you need it but please try to bring your own. Scientific calculators are recommended but not required.
Math 7 and Math 8 classes use the CA Go Math textbook for the corresponding grade level.
Integrated Math 1 and Integrated Math 2 will BOTH use the Big Ideas Integrated 1 textbook. IM2 will use the Big Ideas Integrated 2 textbook in addition to the IM1 book.
Textbooks are intended to be supplementation to the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum on Summit.
We will be using Summit Learning for all of my classes.
We will have Self-Directed Learning (SDL) time every Monday and on special days. Students may be working on different topics than their peers on these days and will be mainly using the Chromebooks.
Typically on Tuesdays through Fridays I will be teaching/directing lessons from the Math Units. Students will be working on the SAME lessons as everyone else in class. We may use technology on these days, but most likely we will be doing work offline.
Units on Summit are taken from the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum. These units do correspond with units from the above textbooks. This means that you can use the textbook as an alternative way to study.

Midterm Assessments - 10% total
There will be one at the end of the 6 and 12 week grading periods both semesters, 5% each.
It will only cover material from that current grading period.
Final Assessment - 10% total
There will be one at the end of each semester.
It will cover material from the entire semester.
Classwork/Homework - 10% total
Includes Google Classroom or any other graded assignment not on Summit.
End-of-Unit Assessments can only be retaken once.
You must revise your old test on paper with clear work written in order to retake the test.
If you do not submit a properly revised test by the date of the retake, you do not get to retake the test.
Retakes will happen on the same day for everyone during SDL at least a week following the test.
You can take it later if ONLY you have an excused absence. Unexcused absences will not receive a retake.
I will take the higher score, meaning if you score worse than the first time, your grade will not change.
If after the retake you still are not satisfied with your score, you may submit revisions to the retake for a maximum score of 70%.
i-Ready lessons may be done late for full credit.
I will not update your score until the next time I check i-Ready for everyone.
Points will be taken off for late Classwork/Homework.
10% will be deducted each day it is late until day 3.
If turned in more than 3 days late, 50% will be taken off.
You will be in your seat with your materials out when the bell rings.
You will only use your Chromebook when directed to do so and ONLY for work I have assigned.
You will clean up your area at the end of every class.
You will raise your hand to speak during a lesson and silently listen if someone else is speaking to the class.
You will treat everyone in class with respect and dignity.
You will follow all school rules as outlined in the school handbook.
Failure to comply will result in a consequence, typically in the following order:
Verbal warning
15-minute detention
30-minute lunch detention plus parent/guardian contact
Referral to assistant principal
If you feel that any of these rules are unfair, you are free to tell me and I will consider your viewpoints as long as you have a clear and meaningful argument against these rules. If you do not have any argument other than, "I just don't like it," then the rule stays as it is.
