Classroom Behavior Expectations

I want my class to be a welcoming place for all and need your help with that. One thing you'll hear from me over and over this year is we need to work together for the common good - which basically means we look out for one another and show care by being decent people. Help out a classmate who may have a question, be kind, wear your mask, etc.

Please also come to class with your charged Chromebook, History notebook, and something to write with.

Grading

All work is graded on a weighted scale as follows:

Summit is 70% of your overall final U.S. History grade. In Summit, you will be graded as follows:

  • Projects are 70%

  • Power Focus Areas are 21%

  • Additional Focus Areas are 9%

Classwork/Homework is 30% of your overall final U.S. History grade and will be made up of google classroom assignments, History Alive assignments and any other non-Summit activity.

Work turned in two or more days late receive 10% deduction. I work hard to ensure my students turn in their work and want them to earn as many points as possible.

Integrity in Academics

I expect all of my students to complete their own assignments. Any plagiarism will result in a 30 min. detention and phone call home. Continued plagiarism will require another phone call home and referral to the office for a further consequence. You can avoid plagiarizing by completing your own work and being sure to cite your sources (give credit to the person who said what you shared and not claim their ideas as your own.)
